چکیده

Species of the Heteropogon-Themeda clade are ecologically important grasses distributed across tropics, including widespread species, such as pantropical H. contortus and T. triandra, range-restricted species ritchiei anathera. Here, we examine habitat preferences grassland/savanna wetland by describing bioclimatic niche characteristics, characterizing functional traits, investigating evolution traits 31 in relation to precipitation temperature. The climatic limits linked mean annual seasonality that also distinguish seven from 24 species. Tests equivalency highlighted unique However, factors do not fully explain geographic range, other likely contribute their distribution ranges. Trait analyses demonstrated were separated culm height, leaf length, area, awn types. Phylogenetic showed evolved tall stature with long large leaves lack hygroscopic awns suggest selective pressures shift between savanna/grassland wetland. two most Heteropogon Themeda triandra have significantly different niches, but found alone does current distributions triandra. Our study provides a new understanding biogeography evolutionary history an C4 tropical grasses. This article is protected copyright. All rights reserved.

Nutrient release from integrated constructed wetland sediments receiving either farmyard runoff or domestic wastewater

There is a risk that contaminants within wetland sediment can either be remobilized or reach the groundwater due to infiltration if the wetland is unlined. This research study assesses laboratory-based integrated constructed wetland (ICW) mesocosms operated in a temperatureand pressure-controlled environment. The wetland columns were filled with contaminated sub-soil collected from the first ce...

Diverging Responses of Tropical Andean Biomes under Future Climate Conditions

Observations and projections for mountain regions show a strong tendency towards upslope displacement of their biomes under future climate conditions. Because of their climatic and topographic heterogeneity, a more complex response is expected for biodiversity hotspots such as tropical mountain regions. This study analyzes potential changes in the distribution of biomes in the Tropical Andes an...

Tropical grassy biomes: linking ecology, human use and conservation.

Tropical grassy biomes (TGBs) are changing rapidly the world over through a coalescence of high rates of land-use change, global change and altered disturbance regimes that maintain the ecosystem structure and function of these biomes. Our theme issue brings together the latest research examining the characterization, complex ecology, drivers of change, and human use and ecosystem services of T...

2 Either/Or

This essay surveys the varieties of disjunctivism about perceptual experience. Disjunctivism comes in two main flavours, metaphysical and epistemological. Metaphysical disjunctivism is the view usually associated with the disjunctivist label, and whenever ‘disjunctivism’ occurs here unprefixed, it refers to this view. After some initial discussion of (metaphysical) disjunctivism (sections 1–3),...
